Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee announced last friday that a ban has been lifted on civilians using wireless technology in the Indian-administered region of Kashmir.A massive demand for the new service soon became apparent with mile-long queues formed in the two biggest towns, Jammu and Srinagar,of people hoping to register for one of 52,000 cell phone connections.
