Cory Doctorow tells MS about DRM
June 21st, 2004

Bloghound Cory Doctorow told Microsoft Research folks about why digital rights management (DRM), is wrong.

There’s a copy of the speech at Anil Dash’s site, an MP3 of someone else reading it, and a growing wiki.

Here’s what I’m here to convince you of:

1. That DRM systems don’t work
2. That DRM systems are bad for society
3. That DRM systems are bad for business
4. That DRM systems are bad for artists
5. That DRM is a bad business-move for MSFT
