According to CNN via /., Philadelphia is considering a city-wide wireless connectivity cloud.

they are claiming $10 million to create the network and only $1.5 million/year to maintain. this seems ridiculously low to me. perhaps they need a more realistic assessment.

There are systems as Wireless IP Local Loop WipLL which are even more cheaper and much faster to set up, at much much less than 1 Million $ initial cost. And you can offer 2MB connection speed in both direction - up & down with New Wimax technology included, 2,4 GHz unlicenced frequency.

You should recommend John Street, the Mayor of Philadelphia, to install such a WIRELESS BROADBAND METROPOLITAN IP SYSTEM NETWORK logically with VoIP integration and a large etc. That’s what we are at the point to install in Barcelona Catalonia.

The actual Hotspot system is not future proof as far as wireless technology is concerned.

As per your email address it looks that your are in this kind of wireless Internet Com business. Wireless Com will be the future by all means.
