Read in the Herald Tribune International Friday January 7 2005. Samsung Electronics said it had developed the world’s first mobile phone with the ability to convert spoken words into text messages.
This speech-to-text VoiceMode capability, available on two new Samsung phones, will allow users to speak into the phone and have the phone convert those words directly into text, it said. Using a related system dubbed QuickPhrase, users would also be able to send preprogrammed messages like “Call me” or “Will call you later” by simply speaking those words.
