TheAssBook.net: collegiate social hookup networking
May 12th, 2005

If you know anyone of college age, you know that Thefacebook.com is probably the most significant social software in use on campus — you poke people, you signify that you’re single or no longer single or you check out people in your new class. Now, according to this report in the Stanford Daily, a group of students at the University of Chicago have created TheAssBook, “an online social directory that connects people through whom they have hooked up with.”

Its design and structure intentionally mimic Thefacebook, down to the widely reviled “poke” feature — although TheAssBook has renamed it the “tap that ass” feature. Instead of messages, users receive “booty calls.” You can’t register a party, but you can register an orgy.
