This weekend naked cyclists took to the streets in more than 50 cities worldwide to protest against society’s dependency on oil.
In London around 200 cyclists and roller skaters braved typically British summer conditions (grey, chilly, threat of rain) to make their point. Photo.net started a survey on the question ‘Would yo comply with this?’ referring to the photography policy of the London ride.

While the WNBR is in it’s scnd year ‘Critical Mass’ is a ‘movement of bicycles in the streets’ that started in 1992 in San Francisco and grew out to a worldwide movement over 300 cities. CM calls itself not an organization, but rather speaks of “an unorganized coincidence” resulting in critical-mass hubs of links tracking CM Rides around the world.
Another direct-action environmental group that uses bicycle events and participates in actions and campaigns all over the globe is the New York City-based TIME’S UP.
