Tagsurf
July 25th, 2005

Tagsurf is an online message board which uses tags to help organize subjects instead of threads or channels. Discussions are threaded like traditional message boards.

The tags help organize posts and messages between users. Members may sign up for alerts based on tags. Most pages include an RSS feed.

it’s funny .. it seems everyone has a different take on TagSurf! From where I sit it is a del.icio.us clone - resource tagger - with an extended “description” field, which promotes using it as a blogging platform… leaving comments, in a threaded way, give it message board properties, and user karma ratings give it that community edge. RSS feeds of everything - tag aggregations, user contributions, threads, etc - make it a heck of a powerful collaborative tool!

The code behind the site is Java and the developer has said he would share it Open Source style but has yet to get around to doing so. :)

Not to mention the site allows for content licensing selections (Creative commons flavors included), and full multilingual/internationionalization… It’s a hellova thing he’s got there… I’ve been raving about it for months!
