This CNN article says,”with digital music players becoming more ubiquitous, Volkswagen AG is offering a stereo component that lets motorists plug in all manner of portable digital players, not just iPods, and manage their tunes and podcasts on a dashboard display”.Volkswagen is “making the USB connection an option on its Golf, Golf Plus and Touran models in December and on remaining models next year”.

USB for your car
USB for you car.
“Volkswagen, Europe’s biggest automaker, is thus making the USB connection an option…

I can just see the USB for the car topic heating up:
- What about virus that can be loaded through the USB port? Just imagine a would be car-thief breaks into the car, loads a virus through the USB port then leaves the car. The owner will only find out about any potential damage too late. ( Even something as simple as ruining the stereo system)…
Or, for the flip side, imagine USB ports on Planes, Trains, and Buses: plug in your own USB-enabled device and get the media that you want while traveling around the country or globe.
Lots and lots of things to think about at the intersection of two major technologies!

Dear All
As somebody who has just got this device, it really cool, the only problem is the number of MP3 players that it will work with - don’t believe the hype its not all MP3, there is a list you get given and to tell you the truth in the age of 60GB MP3 its really limited.
I will be using it, but not with my main MP3, just some cut down USB pens.
Also the neds around here can barely spell let alone programme computer viruses. If they break in your car its to feed their crack habit not to play sophisticated computer tricks.
