This is the title of the first dissertation about mobile technologies in Brazil. It was carried on in Escola de Comunica√ß√µes e Artes, of the S√£o Paulo University, by Paulo Henrique Ferreira for the master degree in Sciences of Communication. The work’s abstract is:

The Master’s degree dissertation “News in Mobile: an introduction”, developed at ECA-USP, has as subject the mainstream Brazilian media groups towards news broadcast through mobile telephones. The main goals of this work are: (1) establish an overview of the mobile market, and map the various initiaves on news delivered through mobile in Brazil and (2); analyze the motivations of the Brazilian media groups towards this initiaves start operation, and the end-user acceptance of it; (3) understand the business models, the editing and publishing process and the structure behind this (4);. Under the global context, this survey has as research material interviews with 10 executives of 10 mobile content Brazilian companies. As result, it was possible to verify that media companies in Brazil are making an effort to develop - in different levels - news on mobile.
