The toy pencil holiday gift
November 17th, 2005

David Pogue’s column today in the New York Times Circuits section describes Leapfrog’s Fly Pentop Computer. Pogue reports that the item is high on Ebay’s list of ‘hottest’ toys. Gizmo has described the Pentop as

. . . essentially a PDA without a screen. All of the standard PDA-esque features are intact: calendar, calculator, time, notepad, games, etc. It works by reading and analyzing your written commands.

Pogue calls the possibilities of the technology that operates the Pentop ‘staggering.’ Pencil-pushing looks like it’s not going to be dull anymore.
