Community Voice Mail has helped Katrina victims reconnect to obtain jobs and is doing the same for homeless people. The service provides a temporary phone number a person can give to a prospective employer to call back on and leave a voicemail message for the applicant. This removes the frequent obstacle the unemployed have of not being able to provide a callback number. CVM number holders can get voice messages by calling in from any public or private phone.
