ZDNet Australia reports “a record 27 million text messages over the New Years’ Eve-New Years’ Day period.In a statement issued today,Telstra said the 26,745,000 messages sent over that 48 hours topped the previous record of 23.2 million set during the same period last year.”The busiest hour for text messaging on New Years’ Eve was between 11pm and midnight when Telstra customers sent more than 1.7 million messages,” the carrier said.”
