Work/home tension spillover via mobile devices

Mobile devices blur boundaries between work and family space, which leads to a “spillover” of tension from one to another, according to a new study by Noelle Chesley at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Home stress impacts work, and vice versa.

The paper, “Blurring Boundaries? Linking Technology Use, Spillover, Individual Distress, and Family Satisfaction,” is forthcoming in the Journal of Marriage and Family.
