This smh article says “a new chapter in the audio-book market is unfolding, as the ubiquitous iPod transforms the way Australians listen to spoken word books.A publisher at the online audio-book shop Bolinda.com, Rebecca Walshe, said digitally downloadable titles had created a new audience of computer-savvy “readers” who would never have bothered with triple-pack cassette versions of their favourite books.”It is a new consumer, it is a new distribution model, and it is providing us with the opportunity to make our titles available on the World Wide Web globally,” she said”.
