July 31st, 2006

The Shanghai Daily reports “a growing number of elementary school teachers in the city are setting up blogs to communicate with students over the Internet, but most of the online diaries aren’t very attractive to students, scholars said at an education forum in the city yesterday. Since the first batch of teacher blogs debuted two years ago, at least 13,000 local kindergarten, primary and secondary school teachers have set up their own online diaries. Currently, about 10 percent of elementary school teachers in the city have blogs, according to the Shanghai Academy of Education Sciences”.
