Introducing Treemo - Media Sharing on a Mission
October 26th, 2006

Founder Brent Brookler, suggested Smartmobs to introduce their online and mobile community dedicated to sharing digital media. It is called Treemo - aka Hyperboy and HyperMob. The public ‘beta’ was launched on September 7th.

Brent writes: “We have built (are building) a social media site that truly is ubiquitous or converged. We have launched our web site and mobile applications - our mobile application is an xHTML or WAP or mobile browsing application because we feel that there should be little to no ‘friction’ between potential users and content”.

Treemo has zero tolerance for copyrighted, pornagraphy, hateful etc content. A remarkeable trait of the service is their ’social mission’ integration and values. They consider themselves a ‘green business’ because they are not only actively promoting recycling of electronic gear, they are building their own social programs and therefore they are socially responsible.

They are also promoting ‘green’ content and aim to be the preferred ‘media sharing’ platform for the green movement and according to Brent the movement is picking up steam online and they are slowly integrating with these sites.
