“Cyworld, the largest online community site in South Korea, now has more than 20 million members, the site’s operator SK Communications said Monday,”the Korea Times reports. “The number of registered members grew to 19,996,000 with 10,000 new members signing up everyday, the company said. Cyworld breached the 10 million member mark in September 2004, adding its 15 millionth member in September 2005. Noticeably, about 950,000 of the members are senior citizens aged 50 and older, the company said. Cyworld was launched in 1999, and was bought by SK Communications in 2002. The company now operates branches in six countries including China, Japan, the United States, Germany, Taiwan and Vietnam”.
