MIT established the MIT Mobile Experience Lab. It is a new research lab within the MIT Design Laboratory. Their research focuses on radically reinventing and designing the connections between people, ideas and physical places using cutting edge information technologies in order to improve people’s lives through meaningful experiences.

With a multidisciplinary team they research and design new technologies along with their impact in societies, spaces and communities. Federico Casalegno is appointed as the Mobile Experience Lab director, headed by Prof. William J. Mitchell.
