23half launches Thrrum Visual Search
March 27th, 2007

23half, a pioneer of visual search technologies for the wireless industry, announces the launch of the beta version of Thrrum Visual Search for camera phones. Thrrum enables users to point the camera in their phones at objects of interest such as a book, product packaging or any print material and get relevant information, product prices, and more, right on their phone.

‘Mobile information access need not be restricted to a miniature replica of the desktop web search paradigm,’ said K. Gopalakrishnan, Founder and CEO of 23half”.

Based on technology first demonstrated by 23half in 2005 in the ‘nThrum’ technology demonstrator, Thrrum presents a unique 1-click approach to hyperlinking physical objects with related information.
