This 9-minute video presented by Edutopia (click the preceding text, not the image above) shows five-year-olds doing student-driven projects, enhanced by technology, launching these kindergartners on a journey of lifelong learning. They are enrolled at Auburn Early Education Center in Auburn, Alabama. The kids will one day be the college class of 2023. It is astounding to think about what lies ahead for them as education embraces the connected virtual world. The students in the video are already using the Internet and sliding images around on whiteboards–yet the interpersonal skills are very much enhanced as well as the tech stuff.
