TechCrunch writes: “Bringo solves one of the most frustrating problems that we encounter daily: phone trees. Call a customer service phone number and end up in automated operator hell.”
Marcin Musiolik, from Bringo — or NoPhoneTrees.com — gave me additional details.
“Our mission is to help users skip phone trees and connect with a real human on the customer support phone lines at many companies throughout the U.S. Users simply choose the company they wish to call, and we’ll dial the company directly, navigate their phone tree, and call them back when they are in queue for an operator or customer service representative. The service is available for free, and we’ve gotten some great feedback so far.”
The site itself describes how the service works.
- Find the company you’d like to call by category (credit cards, mortgages, loans, health care)
- Enter your phone # (we will never disclose your phone number to anyone, not even your mother!).
- Wait a few seconds while we navigate the phone tree.
- When we call you back, pick up your phone and you’re done. No more phone trees.
This is a very neat service, and I hope that the company will develop a version available in Europe.
