In this photograph, my hero, Doug Engelbart, is looking at rooms at SRI International, where he is moving his office. He started out “augmenting human intellect” at SRI, then Stanford Research Institute, more than forty years ago. He is accompanied by Mary Coppernoll, who has been his assistant for decades, and his partner, Karen O’Leary.
