Predicting Terrorism using Biometrics is something that, apparently, it’s possible to do, according to an article in ScienceDaily titled Technology Would Help Detect Terrorists Before They Strike.
“…Computer and behavioral scientists at the University at Buffalo are developing automated systems that track faces, voices, bodies and other biometrics against scientifically tested behavioral indicators to provide a numerical score of the likelihood that an individual may be about to commit a terrorist act.”
But this is actually a project funded by the National Science Foundation with an 800,000 dollar grant. However, no technology, the article points out, is full proof.
I saw the story in Boing Boing first, from a post by Cory Doctorow on Modern phrenologists “predict” terrorism with biometrics but it adds no new material or insights from the more original ScienceDaily article.
Overall, the comments on Boing Boing to the Biometrics post are negative, with most people feeling this is just one more example of the degrading of democracy into something else, citing Minority Report, for example.

… if it helps identify terrorists, but do you trust the Government not to make mistakes and pick up somebody who is upset about something? What if a well-meaning group of patriots honestly believe that it is necessary to overthrow the globalist Luciferians masking themselves as ‘leaders’ and Christians? What if someone is sleepwalking in Grand Central Station, giving indications of working in his basement to create a giant lizard which will eat the Pentagon or NSA? Think of the possibilities. We should all be wary.
