Open gates of learning to create “a vast dynamic ecosystem”

As reported yesterday in The Wired Campus, Jimmy Wales and Rich Baraniuk, respective founders of Wikipedia and Connexions, “write that open education ‘promises to turn the textbook-production pipeline into a vast dynamic ecosystem that is in a constant state of creation, use, reuse, and improvement.’”

The provocation for this statement from these top guys in the open learning world is the Cape Town Declaration. Eve Gray, who was present at that creation, tells the full story of the declaration in her blog post Open the gates of learning! . . .
