Net neutrality and poor American networks: Craig Aaron
February 14th, 2008

Net neutrality is a good thing for American consumers and the entire net, argues Craig Aaron. But Aaron sees anti-net neutrality forces being the same ones who helped craft a poor American broadband scene and lame mobile networking.

The solution? Popular agitation:

We need old-fashioned town meetings and online forums about the internet’s future in every state, if not every congressional district…

Putting an open internet on the national agenda this election year and into 2009 will require an unusual combination of dedicated politicians, high-tech companies that see beyond their own narrow interests and innovative grassroots organising online and off.
