From a sociological perspective I believe that Melanie McBride’s recent posting regarding the 2009 Horizon Report is a more suitable topic for today’s “Roland’s Sunday Smart Trends”. Bearing that in mind, I am adding a brief Google Search Trend summary to contrast Social Media trends with a “business” oriented Mobile Trends.
The following chart depicts the search trend on Google for the term “mobile” over the past 5 years. This chart shows some key events which are highlighted with the letters A,B,C,D,E & F. I ask myself if these “Search Trends” are really useful, or are they just another way to help quantify social phenomena?
