Flashmobs & Teaparties

Smart mobs have ceased to be anything new, and are becoming part of the landscape. Both the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times cited Smart Mobs in regard to the tea parties (which were, of course, strongly promoted by Fox News — like the Obama campaign, a hybrid of top-down and grassroots organization). And at UC Berkeley’s Cal Day, note how many people in this video are not moving — the Cal Day “Freeze,” organized via Twitter and Facebook. (I’m still twittering as @hrheingold):
