Can One Man Communicate Solely Through Social Media for a Month?

Clark Harris (aka @SilentClark) is only speaking using social media for the month of May in an effort to raise awareness and money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of his mother.

Is it possible in today’s world of social media to more effectively raise money and create awareness for a cause online versus traditional methods? Clark will find out as he communicates solely via social media channels in all conversations between friends, coworkers… and even his wife for the month of May.

Primary Goal:

Raise $100,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and create awareness about the disease.

Secondary Goals:

1) To see if is feasible to get through an entire month successfully without changing any social, leisure and professional habits.

2) To see what situations work and don’t work for Social Media

3) To see how not talking affects his life.

Rules and Regulations:

Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flikr, Google Chat are allowed

Email, talking, writing, text messaging and use of sign language are not allowed

Simple yes/no questions can be answered by nodding head

Goal: A mere $5 from 20,000 people! to Donate
