That doesn’t count the texts sent for free. Nor, as an article today in TNW Canada quotes: “Other types of messages, such as Internet-to-phone messages are not included as we would not have access to the figures.” And all of that is just Canada!

The TNW article sketches the number of text messages flying off the fingers of Canadians. It staggers the imagination to think of what the Canadian slice suggests for the true volume of texting going on worldwide. How many texts are really zipping through the global ether when we add in the USA, Korea, Japan, China, India, Europe — and then the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, and the rest?

The TNW article gives an interesting update on all this texting and some suggestions on how to do it for free.
